Me As A Consumer Of Music

Essay

In this essay I will be talking about me a consumer of music. There are loads of genres but the ones I enjoy listening to is; pop, rap and RNB. I like these genres because this can bring me positivity and it’s catchy to listen to. The artists I like to listen to is Drake, Oliver Heldens, Rihanna, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran this is only a select few of my favourite artists but there are many more that I like. The music that I listen to today I would say its influenced by my friends and what they listen to. I also enjoy listening to what comes on, on the radio in the car.

The genres I do not enjoy or like listening to is heavy metal and classic music. I do not enjoy listening to these types of music because I don’t understand the concept and it doesn’t give me the same feeling as pop or RNB does. I listen to music everyday, I listen to music everyday because it puts me in a good mood and helps me get through the day, I listen to music when I’m going on long travels and when I’m walking somewhere on my own. My music occupies me and keeps me entertained. How is listen to my music is on my iPhone. I listen to music on my phone because I can take it everywhere I go and its easy and small to carry, the channels I listen to my music on is Youtube, iTunes and a music app from the App Store on iPhone. I do not physical but music for example CD. I digitally buy my music from iTunes store on Apply or I have an app on my phone where I can listen and download music without having to buy it.

The 3rd most streamed artist in the whole is drake, this proves that the pop and RNB culture is very popular and it is not only me who likes this artist and the genre of music. Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith passed 2 million lifetime sales in the UK in the year 2015 and a feat replication in the US too. Ed Sheeran and Sam smith join other artists such as Adele and Taylor Swift in achieving multi-platinum status. Ed Sheeran was the most streamed artist he was number 1 at the top of the chart.

Music today is streamed all over the world. People stream music so they don’t have to pay for it and it is a quicker and easier way of listening to music before it has come out yet. Audio streaming went up 82% and digital formats now has gone to 54%. 26.8 billion audio stream music in the UK, although if streaming through music video websites were to be added, the streams around the would top the 50 billion mark.
