Planning: Costume

Costume is a important part to the planning stage and there is a lot to consider. The costume has to set the theme of the video all the way through. For example, if we dressed our actor up in light and colourful clothing, it would detract the theme of the video if in the mood is dull and dark. The costume has to fit in with our target audience. The target audience in our music video is for males between the age of 16-24 year olds. The clothes is important as it will be visually interesting and will connect with the audience watching. However, we have to take into consideration our actor and he has to wear something that he finds comfortable to wear and doesn't feel out of place. So we need to make sure the costume suits the target audience and the actor as it is important for both because we don't want our actor to be comfortable in his own clothes, but for his clothes to not match up with our target audience. However, the customs needs to be at a affordable price and not too expensive.

This is the outfit that our Character is going to be wearing. This is a fairly common type of outfit which would be worn by people who are interested in the indie genre. All of this clothing is from ASOS and is all at a cheap price. During the music video there will be 2 different locations that our actor will be skipping to and from and he will be wearing the same clothes for each scene. We are going to let our actor wear what shoes they would like, we feel like our actor needs to be comfy in what they're wearing.

Option 1:

Option 2:

( The white top will be replaced with a plain black T-shirt)

Here is some pictures of Artists with the same Costume style we are hoping for:

These artists are all have a genre of indie pop, this is the same as our chosen artist Jack Garratt. These are different type of artists, but even though they are different they all do the dress the same and perform the same genre. The reasoning for picking Indie pop is that everyone has clothes from this genre, everyone has a pair of jeans and a plain t-shirt. This will be an added bonus for us as we don't need to spend loads of money on a costume dressing up our actor.

Our final decision is that we are going to go for option 1. We think that option 1 fits our music video more and fits the genre more which is Indie. Jack wears many different Indie styles, but the style that we have gone for it is easy to get and it is a cheap price. Here is a picture of Jack Garratt and as you can see the outfit we are going to go to use for our music video is similar to what Jack is wearing. We need our actor to wear clothes that fit in with Jacks style so it makes the audience feel like they are listening to Jack.
